LEGENDARY DIRECTOR: YASH CHOPRA
Yash Chopra, the legendary director of bollywood directed 22 films in his 53 year career life. Ironically his last film was named Jab tak hai jaan which meant "As long as i live". Mr Yash Chopra is known for his romantic movies and he was the first director to introduce Swiss Alps in almost all his movies.
He has shot in Switzerland so much that a lake in the Alpenrausch, has been christened Chopra Lake and also Jungfrau Railways in Switzerland has inaugrated a train after Yash Chopra with his signature and name on the signboard. Other than that a whole suite has been named after our legendary director.
Mr Yash Chopra's son Aditya Chopra directed a film called Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge which recently comepleted 1000 weeks of being in theatre in Mumbai, India from the time it had been released.
Yash Chopra is honored and recognised all over the world. He had been given a Padma Bhushan, one of India's highest civilian awards in 2005. He is the first Indian to be honoured at BAFTA in 59-year history of the academy. Rachel Dwyer mentioned Yash chopra 5 decade career in a book called "World Directors Series". He was also honored by the Swiss Government for rediscovering Switzerland in his movies. His honors and recognition list goes on and is uncountable.
After his demise, Bollywood mentioned that "King of Romance has passed away and bollywood lost one of the iconic directors in the industry".
